Sing to Amina is one of the final exam film projects by the second-year international class this year at stockholms filmskola. It is based on a true story, a character driven personal film, exploring the theme of immigration, and the alienation created by institutional systems.

As graduation approaches, life-altering news threatens to fracture the lifelong bond between two best friends.

The Principal (Female, 40-60)
The principal is a rule-bound, well-meaning authority figure who places deep trust in the system she represents. Though she is sympathetic, her inability to fully grasp or relate to Amina’s situation leads her to respond in a detached way, offering standard support while remaining confined by the limits of her role.

Mother (Female, 40-50)
Amina’s mother is a nurse who came to Sweden with Amina to escape a toxic relationship. She has worked to rebuild stability, later starting a new family with a Swedish partner, with whom she has a younger son who holds Swedish citizenship.
